Air suspension on my GLE is acting up – is it actually worth the hassle?
I’ve been going back and forth on this for weeks and I really need some honest opinions from people who’ve been through it. My 2017 GLE has the air suspension and it’s been nothing but trouble for the past six months, first it was a slow leak on the front passenger side that cost me a small fortune to fix, and now I’m hearing the compressor running way more often than it should which is making me nervous about another big bill on the horizon. I’m starting to seriously question whether all this complexity is actually worth it because sure the ride is smooth when it’s working, but the constant worry about something failing and the costs involved are really starting to wear me down. I’ve been reading up on the whole air suspension debate and came across a Professional guide to air suspension pros and cons in Dubai that explained how the heat and dust here just destroy these systems, which honestly confirmed a lot of my fears. For those of you who’ve owned cars with air suspension for a while, do you think the comfort benefits actually justify the ongoing maintenance headaches and repair costs, or would you rather have just stuck with conventional springs if you had the choice again? I’m genuinely torn because I love the car when everything’s working, but I’m getting tired of this constant anxiety every time I hear a noise or see the car sitting a bit unevenly in the morning.
